Operating notes for BETEX HS rubber hoses
BETEX HS rubber hoses operate at 700 bar (10,000 psi). They deliver oil under pressure between pumps and tools. To maintain safe performance, observe the following points.
- Bending radius: Never bend the hose tighter than 10–12 times its internal diameter. Sharp bends weaken the steel braid.
- Abrasion protection: Avoid contact with metal edges or rough surfaces. The rubber cover resists wear, but continuous rubbing causes damage. Spring guards protect the ends, yet mid-sections must be supported or suspended correctly.
- Pressure limits: Work only within 700 bar. Overpressure, even short peaks, shortens service life. Replace the hose if bulging, leakage, or surface cracking appears.
- Temperature and fluid: Operating range is –40 °C to +100 °C, depending on oil type. Avoid synthetic ester or aggressive solvents that attack rubber compounds.
