Description

Flexible inductors are essential accessories for the BETEX MF Quick-Heater 22kW. They are designed for applications where standard inductors or rigid coils cannot provide the required adaptability. Their flexible design makes them suitable for heating components of different geometries, dimensions, or those positioned in difficult-to-reach areas.

BETEX flexible inductor 22kW
Ø15mm, max. 180°C short use

  • Heating principle: The flexible inductor 22kW functions as a medium-frequency coil connected to the MF Quick-Heater power unit. It generates an electromagnetic field that penetrates the workpiece, inducing eddy currents that rapidly increase the temperature.
  • Construction: The inductors are manufactured with a flexible cable (Ø12 mm) insulated with heat-resistant material, allowing repeated bending without damaging the conductor.
  • Cooling: During operation, the inductor is water-cooled to maintain efficiency and protect insulation.
  • Operating temperature: Up to 180 °C continuous use. Short-term exposure can reach higher peaks as indicated in the manual.

Available variants

Application areas

  • Mounting or dismounting of large bearings, couplings, and gear rings where geometry prevents the use of standard yoke-type inductors.
  • Situations where the workpiece is too large for the heater’s fixed coils, requiring the inductor to be wrapped around the part.
  • On-site maintenance jobs where flexibility, portability, and speed are critical.

Benefits

  • High adaptability: A single flexible inductor can handle a wide range of diameters and component shapes.
  • Mobility: Easy to position around heavy or fixed workpieces.
  • Efficient heating: Direct induction ensures fast, uniform heating, minimizing thermal stress.
  • Safe operation: Induction heating avoids open flames, oil baths, or blow torches.

Notes from the manual

  • Flexible inductors must always be connected with correct cooling water supply before energizing.
  • Ensure proper contact and correct wrapping around the workpiece for efficient heating.
  • Do not exceed the bending radius specified in the manual to avoid damage to the insulation or conductors.
  • Short-term temperature peaks are allowed, but prolonged overheating will reduce service life.
